Students at a bunch of universities across the country are getting Kindle DX readers as part of a pilot project with Amazon.com. At the University of Washington, more than 30 computer science graduate students are taking part in the pilot, and are just receiving their devices. The Segway PT is a two-wheeled, self-balancing electric transportation device invented by Dean Kamen and unveiled in December 2001. It is produced by Segway Inc. of New Hampshire. The name “Segway” is a homophone of “segue” (a smooth transition, literally Italian for “follows”).
